Cardamom is a spice from India, which is used in the gastronomy of different countries for its aroma, although it is also used as a remedy for various physical ailments as it helps to counteract ailments and provides great health benefits thanks to its high vitamin and mineral content. It is native to the tropical forests of southern India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Sumatra, currently it is also cultivated in Nepal, Thailand and Central American countries.
It is mainly collected in commercial plantations in southern India and Sri Lanka, in October and December.
