The origin of Café Talks

We are fully committed to what we do, from the custom manufacturing of our coffee roasters designed by master roaster Mario Cotero Fuentes , to the coffee grinders used in the company's manufacturing. We are involved from start to finish in the entire process of our product.

1863

Port of Veracruz

It was the year 1863 when Mr. Antonio Cotero and his family arrived at the port of Veracruz, coming from the south of France and Santander, Spain.

The first roasts

Once they arrived at the port of Veracruz and attracted by its pleasant climate, they settled in Villa Guerrero, State of Mexico.

After a few years, Mr. Antonio Cotero died, leaving his youngest son Carlos Cotero Agundis orphaned at the young age of 11. Due to this event, he migrated with his mother and siblings to the state of Morelos.

From a very young age, Mr. Carlos Cotero Agundis learned the value of hard work and perseverance instilled through his parents and family. He progressed as a good businessman and it was in his store, "La Comercial", the largest and most popular in the area at that time, where he ventured into the marketing of specialty roasted coffee beans, roasting and grinding his coffee beans. Without a doubt, a passion deeply rooted from his origins.

Over time, he transmitted and instilled the values ​​and passion for working in the coffee industry to his son Mário Cotero Fuentes, who today specializes in the collection of coffee beans from the most important coffee-growing regions in Mexico, manufacturing his roasters and grinders in Charlas Café® and continuing what his father, Mr. Carlos Cotero Agundis, once started, who gave the specialized start to the fascinating world of coffee.

In 1863, several members of the Cotero family arrived at the port of Veracruz, Mexico.

Year 1939

Mr. Carlos Cotero Agundis and his wife Micaela Fuentes Arámbula and eldest son, center, in the State of Morelos, Mexico.
