If you want to add a creative touch to your cold brew coffee , I invite you to continue reading to discover four techniques that will allow you to enjoy this beverage in a completely new way.

Add a touch of flavor to your Coffee Talks ®!

Spices are a great way to add a special touch to your coffee. Some delicious and easy-to-find options are chicory, cocoa, and cinnamon. Explore the possibilities! There are so many different recipes you can try.

Do you want to try something new?

To make cinnamon coffee, mix 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon with 100 grams of ground coffee and 3 cups of water. You can dilute this concentrated mixture with water, milk, or ice until you get the intensity you like best. Saigon or Vietnamese cinnamon give it an incredible flavor! But if you don't have those options, don't worry! Use whatever cinnamon you have on hand.

Experiment with different spices!

This same ratio works with almost any spice. Cardamom, for example, adds a delicious kick to your coffee. If you find your coffee too strong, reduce the amount of spice to half a tablespoon and try your recipes with "AarónShis Charlas Café® Cardamom and Spice Coffee." Or, if you prefer more vanilla flavors, try "Charlas Café® Vanilla Coffee."

Do you like intense flavors?

Try combining cinnamon with cayenne pepper. This sweet and spicy blend is perfect for awakening your senses. Feel free to try adding other spices like peppercorns!

Preparing Spiced Cold Brew

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of your Charlas Café ® favorite, freshly ground (medium grind).
  • 705 ml of cold water (3 cups).
  • 5 grams of ground cinnamon (approximately 2 tablespoons).

Instructions:

  1. Initial Mix: In a suitable container (a French press works great), combine the water and spices, making sure they are fully combined.
  2. Brew: Pour one-third of the water over the ground coffee and let it steep for about 30 seconds. Then, stir vigorously to break up any lumps that may have formed. Add the remaining water and stir again.
  3. Steep: If using a French press, replace the lid without pressing it and refrigerate or let it sit at room temperature, away from light and heat. If using another brewing method, be sure to cover the container.
  4. Extraction: Let the mixture sit for 14 to 24 hours.
  5. Filtering: If using a French press, press slowly and let the grounds settle. If using a cloth sleeve, place it over a sieve and let it sit over the carafe for about 30 minutes. You can also wring the sleeve, but this may increase the amount of grounds in the coffee. Optionally, you can strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or paper filter if you have time.
  6. Storage: Store cold brew concentrate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three weeks. Keep in mind that spices can reduce the shelf life of cold brew by about a week.

Done! You now have your cold brew. Coffee Talks ® spiced to enjoy.

Additional notes:

  • You can adjust the amount of spices according to your personal taste.
  • If you want a more intense flavor, you can let the coffee steep longer.
  • Remember this is a concentrate, so dilute with water, milk, or ice when serving.

Nectar of Love

Have you ever thought about making coffee without water? Dare to try something different and use coconut water! Intense fruit juices might not pair well with cold brew , but a light infusion of watermelon or blueberry could enhance the final result. Another great way to play with the senses is to create a hydrosol, which tastes like water but smells like whatever you want.

The key to making coffee with alternative liquids is to start with a small amount. That way, if you don't like the result, you won't have wasted too much coffee.

And speaking of infusions, why not borrow techniques from other craft beverage worlds and brew cold brew in a whiskey or bourbon barrel? Or even a wine barrel? Getting a barrel can be expensive, so this would be a great opportunity to make friends in the alcohol-making world.

In summary:

  • Experiment with liquids : Try coconut water, light fruit infusions, or hydrosols.
  • Start small : Don't use too much coffee at first to avoid wasting it.
  • Explore new techniques : Use wooden barrels to give your cold brew a special touch.
